Pesaro, Italy’s Death SS formed in 1977 but remained shrouded in obscurity until the early '80s. What’s even cooler is that each band member dressed in costumes fitting their monster alter egos

Death SS (later also intended as a contraction of In Death of Steve Sylvester) is an Italian heavy metal band. Death SS was formed in 1977 in Pesaro by Steve Sylvester (born Stefano Silvestri), a future member of the Ordo Templi Orientis, and Paul Chain (Paolo Catena), who would later embrace an experimental form of doom metal with his solo project, Paul Chain Violet Theatre

is disk rot appared in the last track of this cd?
I own this one and I don't know why, "The Story of Death SS & Gilas" are actually two different tracks like in the first pressing, despite the fact they are credited as one single track on the back cover. Also, the sound doesn't look remastered to me (it is not very good in the first tracks) but it could be an impression. I thought the remaster had to have a very improved sound in the first tracks. Yet it IS this version. Does anyone have this issue?
Does anybody know if in the booklet the lyrics for the Sanctis Ghoram songs are actually all credited to Paul Chain? I own a different version of this record and there's no information about the songwritng nor the lyrics anywhere.
unfortunately the tracks with Sanctis Gorahm were removed without any apparent reason. and this marks a good negative point in this reissue.Contary to what people say, also the first edition was official. This is just a new edition with tracks arbitrarily removed by mr. Sylvester himself
Yes the original songs were played with Sanctis Ghoram. The live ones with Steve Sylvester are new versions recorded in the '90s, apparently during the Free Man Tour, according to some interviews from the old members of the band!
"The first pressing was not authorized by Steve", you say. Actually in the past I have read many times that Steve registered the rights just one year after the first press of Paul chain, and he thought about reforming the band only after Death SS' Last concert with Sanctis Ghoram in 1987, where they announced the album, so I don't understand why Minotauro Records version has been defined as unahtorized. Originally Black and Violet and Bones and the Grave were sung by Ghoram so I don't know what tracks they put in the new version."Death SS with Sanctis on vocals was not Death SS but the first line-up of Paul Chain Violet Theatre." This is YOUR OPINION.
Hi, I'm new to this band and a bit confused about this reissue. I know 'Chains of Death' was changed to a live version and that 'Inquisitor' and 'The Story of Death SS and Gilas' were taken off... but I thought Sanctis Ghoram sang on the whole 2nd side of the older version. So are the versions of 'Black and Violet' and 'Bones from the Grave' different on this reissue too? Or was it Steve Sylvester that appeared on those tracks in the first place. Hope you can help!
The first pressing of The Story of was not authorised by Steve.Remember: Death SS means In Death Of Steve Sylvester. The name of the band is linked to Steve and no one else."Death SS" with Sanctis on vocals was not Death SS but the first line-up of Paul Chain Violet Theatre.
